Keisuke Amazawa is the main character of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth: Hackers Memory. Originally an average teenager in high school, Keisuke was enthralled into the Hacker lifestyle in order to get back his stolen account.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Background[edit | edit source]
Keisuke attended Inoden High School and is best friends with Yu. After his account was stolen in a raid in EDEN, many of his peers, teachers and other began to treat Keisuke like a criminal rather then a person. In his childhood, it's possible Keisuke was a skilled window-cleaner, probably the best in his class, but he claims this is "just a rumor". As seen in his conversations over DigiLine, it's possible Keisuke has two crushes, but claims this is also just a rumor. Keisuke appears to be rather embarrassed of his childhood, as he also claims that an inident involvig him breaking a bone while flying a kite was also "a rumor".
Personality[edit | edit source]
Much like his counterpart, Keisuke is a kind-hearted, brave and selfless hero with a strong sense of justice. However, while Takumi was selfless to a fault, Keisuke is willing to suppress his morality in order to get the job done. Although a portion of his personality is dependent on player choices, Keisuke is typically portrayed as a reasonably friendly and pleasant fellow, though has a sarcastic and snarky sense of humor. He's shown to be very caring of others and clearly cares for his friend Yu very much. Keisuke cares for all of his other friends as well, openly saying Chitose, Erika and Ryuji are all "great", and he showed great concern for Erika when she was in the hosptial. Similarly to Takumi, Keisuke is shown to really care about his Digimon on a deeper level, treating them like younger siblings with care and respect. Keisuke is confident in his abilities, taking on big cases by himself without much hesitation and shows steadfast determination throughout his many adventures. Keisuke is naturally a heroic type, even when those who crossed him are in danger, he he springs to their aid, as shown when he was willing to save Shiga from an Eater, but was told not to by Ryuji. Again, like Takumi, much of Keisuke's emotions are shown purely through expressions and his visual reactions to events that unfold in front of him, such as his tired form of shock he experienced with Suedou asked him to fight an Eater for him.
Keisuke seems to be a decent mathematician, as he was able to write out mathematical formulas in his conversations with Digimon on the fly. Keisuke seems to be embarrassed of his past and is quick to claim any odd or weird trait his younger self had was "just a rumor". Keisuke believes in a simple philosphy of 'if people are happy, then he's happy', which bodes well with his laid back and good nature.
A moral young man, Keisuke was visibly put aback by the unusual punishment Yuugo put a Phantomon through in order to teach it a lesson. Described as being "to soft" by his friend, Erika, Keisuke is arguably the most benevolent hacker in Huddie, though remains worried and self-conscious about his public image among his peers. In spite of his moral compass, Keisuke can concede that harsh punishments are sometimes justifiable, even if he feels uneasy about executing them. Keisuke is shown to be good with kids, taking up a free mission just so he could help a little girl out, stating that seeing the smile of a little girl was reward enough. Keisuke's gentle and warm demeanor is often at odds with the more grouchy and rough attitude of Ryuji and the more cold and distant personality of Erika, but it allows him to bond well with others and develop strong friendships.
Keisuke has a sense of humor and uses his "go-to funny face" to add levity to situations or to tease his friends. This degree of levity and self-awareness makes Keisuke stick out from his fellow Huddie hackers and acts more like the straight man to their eccentricities.
Despite his kindness, Keisuke is not to be trifled with. When a high school student tried to slaughter his class room, Keisuke very nearly considered him absolutely horrible, and he could potentially claim that [[Lotosmon (Hackers Memory) had no utterly talent in an aggressive manner.
Relationships[edit | edit source]
Chitose Imai[edit | edit source]
Out of his friends in Hudie, Chitose appears to be his closest friend, or at least the first member of Huddie to treat Keisuke as a proper friend. Given their mutually friendly personality, the two get along great and care a great deal about one another. Chitose sticks up for Keisuke and, whenever he realizes Keisuke is uncomfortable with something, tries to help out. When Chitose realized Keisuke was uncomfortable about facing Inoden students given his rep with them, he offered to serve as the speaker instead. Chitose also respects Keisuke a great deal, openly praising his abilities as a hacker and a battler.
Erika Mishima[edit | edit source]
Despite Erika's distant, almost cold nature, occasional physical abuse and badmouthing of Keisuke, he truly cares for her and her safety. He was deeply concerned over her well being when her brain disease acted up while the two where in a Digital Shift dungeon and rushed her to a hospital. He was visibly worried while she was being treated and relieved when she was fine.
Equipment[edit | edit source]
- Keisukes' Digivice: Keisuke has a digivice that allows him to access EDEN. It is shaped like a visor.
Abilities[edit | edit source]
Strength[edit | edit source]
Much like Takumi, Keisuke is shown to be quite the powerhouse in his own regard. He managed to beat down a door on Floor 3.5 with no effort shown. Keisuke appears to to be confident in his physical prowess, as he shows no signs of hesitation on the few occasions he's engaged in brawls and melees, such as when he defended Yu from bullies.
Battling[edit | edit source]
Keisuke is shown to be a very skilled battler. Even when he was a newbie in EDEN, Chitose praised his skills and he managed to fight along side Arata Sanada as an equal. With the aid of Ryuji, Keisuke managed to take down a Golden Armor Rapidmon very early in his hacking career and when teamed up with "Yuugo" and Fei, he managed to defeat the leader of Dreamin' in spite of the age gap and their hypnosis abilities.
Hacking[edit | edit source]
Keisuke has many of the same abilities as Takumi, with a few more. He is able to break firewalls, restore fallen objects, increase his agility, turn invisible, reduce or force encounters against Digimon and enter digital spaces.
